Biography

Walter J. Eckert is a CPA and a Certified Valuation Analyst. He is a shareholder in the local firm Russell, Eckert, Mealer & Kalb, CPA’s Inc. and a principal of Valuation Analysts, LLC.

Originally from rural, Germantown, Ohio, Walt has lived and worked in Central Ohio since 1996. A graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, Walt spent seven years working for a regional CPA firm. He then joined REMK in 2006. Walt's public accounting experience is very diverse. He has served clients in manufacturing, real estate development and management, financial services, retail, professional services organizations and non-profit organizations.

At REMK, Walt supervises the physician practice accounting and business valuation and consulting divisions of the firm. He also significant experience with construction contractors and assisting small businesses navigate the maze of tax compliance matters.

Walt has served at various levels as a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), including Executive Board Member 2009 – 2010, as well as a member on various service committees and task forces.

Walt is also quite active in his home community where he volunteers as a soccer coach and board member for the Graham Youth Soccer Association, in St. Paris, Ohio; as well as assisting with the local boy scouts pack.
